Patent glazing should not be installed by tradesmen lacking experience in this field.

Attempting to install any roof glazing system without the relevant know-how is likely to lead to a sub-standard installation susceptible to leaks, draughts and reduced service life.

Although our patent glazing systems are designed to excel in even the most adverse weather conditions the installation quality is just as important as the overall system design. Our directly employed installation teams are the most qualified to install our systems and if at all possible we would prefer to quote for this service which also includes for providing full design drawings, site surveys (if required) and a 5 year guarantee.

Supply Only Quotations

In order to obtain a supply only patent glazing quotation from us we will require you to supply us with:

Your company name, address and contact telephone number
Delivery address with postcode
A schedule of materials or suitable design drawings showing sections through the glazing at the head, eaves and verge positions. All patent glazing projects are bespoke so we therefore require sufficient information from you to enable us to provide you with the correct materials cut to the correct lengths, if possible.

Supply Only Service

While the majority of our projects involve our in-house installation, we also offer a supply-only service for patent glazing materials to competent glazing companies, joinery contractors and builders.

Our Two Service Options:

Basic Supply Only Service:
- We provide the metal sections without glazed infills.
- No design drawings included.
- No site surveys included.
Comprehensive Supply Only Service:
- Includes the metal sections with glazed infills.
- Design drawings included upon receipt of working sizes.
- Available for projects of 20m² and above for cost effectiveness.

Choosing the Correct Strength and Type

All of our patent glazing systems (apart from our non-structural Rafterline system) are offered with glazing bars of different sizes/strengths to achieve moderate to very large unsupported spans.

To enable us to supply you with the correct glazing bar from our range please provide us with the necessary information to carry out the structural calculations. The selection of the correct glazing bar is dependant upon many factors.

Cutting Glazing Bars to Size On Site

We strongly suggest that full manufacturing dimensions are supplied to us to prevent the need for on-site cutting of the glazing bars. Some customers do order our aluminium glazing bars over length for on-site cutting with a suitable chop saw but this practice is best avoided if possible. The Rafterline glazing system is most suitable for on site cutting whereas our Heritage lead covered steel glazing bars should never be cut down.

Guarantee

On supply only patent glazing projects we are unable to offer a guarantee for the installation itself as the quality of workmanship cannot be determined by us. The tradesmen responsible for the installation will need to provide their own guarantee to the client. We will of course guarantee the materials we have supplied against failure or poor workmanship.
